Chonks, Corms & Cuttings Care Guide
Your new propagation has arrived! Follow these steps carefully to give your plant the best chance to grow strong and healthy.
🚨 Important First Steps
- Remove masking tape and Polyfil immediately after receiving your plant.
- Make sure the plant is sitting on top of the substrate with growth points or leaves facing upward.
- Check the moisture level of the substrate before resealing the container.
💧 Moisture Guidelines
- Keep the substrate nearly dry at all times.
- If the substrate is too dry, add ONE small drop of water along the outer edge only.
- Never allow water to touch the chonk or corm directly.
- Condensation drops inside the container are a sign that it is too wet.
🌡️ Environment & Placement
- Keep temperatures between 65–75°F.
- Do NOT use heat mats.
- Do NOT use grow lights.
- Do NOT place in direct sunlight.
- Keep the lid sealed and avoid repeatedly opening the container.
🌱 Monitoring Your Propagation
- Check regularly for excess moisture or signs of rot.
- Once leaves begin to sprout, up-pot if needed using the same substrate into our 5oz containers.
- If leaves outgrow the container and the plant is not repotted in time, rot may occur.
- Message us anytime if you have questions — we are happy to help!
✨ A Note From Greenthumb Collective
Every propagation grows at its own pace. Some may root quickly while others may take more time. Patience, proper moisture control, and a stable environment are the keys to success.
